Car Body Repair Prices – What to Expect
Clear, honest pricing to help you understand what different repairs typically cost.
We know most people come straight to this page for the prices — and that’s absolutely fine.
Feel free to scroll straight to the numbers, but here’s a quick guide to how we arrive at these prices so everything below makes sense.
How Our Pricing Works
- Whether the damage is surface-only or deeper (dents, creases, gouges)
- Size of the damaged area
- How much preparation time the panel needs (stripping, filling, priming)
- Whether the colour needs blending into the next panel
We always quote clearly and only recommend the work you actually need.
Why Bodyshop Repairs Cost More Than “Spot Repairs”
You’ll often see cheaper quotes from mobile SMART repairers or people spraying in a yard or shed. These can be fine for very light cosmetic marks, but they’re not the same as a factory-finish repair.
At Gwent ARC we use a commercial spray booth, manufacturer-approved paint systems and full preparation processes. That means repairs that blend in properly, last, and won’t fade or peel in six months.
What’s Involved in a Proper Repair
- Preparation time – sanding, feathering, filling
- Priming – sealing and surfacing the repaired area
- Colour coats – precisely matched to your paint code
- Blending – carrying the colour slightly into the next panel so you don’t see a sharp paint line or shade change
- Clear coat / lacquer
- Booth bake / curing – for a durable factory-like finish
Example Repair Costs
These guide prices cover the visible exterior repair. Modern bumpers and panels can sometimes hide damage to brackets, crash bars, liners or sensors. If we find anything during strip-down, we’ll show you the issue, explain options and agree costs before continuing.
Scuffed Rear Bumper Corner (Parking Scrape)
Typical low-speed parking scrape where the paint is scuffed but the bumper shape is still OK.
Guide price: £300–£340 (1–2 days)
Scratched / Dented Door and Front Wing
Damage running across the front door and wing. We repair the panels and blend into the next panel for a clean colour match.
Guide price: £620–£780 (2–3 panels, 2–3 days)
Scrape Down One Side of the Car
Front door, rear door and rear quarter all marked on one side, repaired and painted together.
Guide price: £900–£1,150 (3–4 panels, 2–3 days)
Rear Impact – Bumper & Parking Sensors
Rear bumper damage after a bump in traffic and the parking sensors have stopped working.
Strip-down often reveals cracked sensor brackets or light damage to the crash bar behind the bumper.
Labour: £380–£650 (2–3 days)
Typical parts: £120–£280 (brackets / trims / sensors)
Front Corner Impact – Bumper, Wing & Headlamp Area
Common “front corner” hit involving the bumper and wing. From photos it can look minor, but behind the panels we often find broken lamp mounts, wheel-arch liners or bumper carriers.
Labour: £550–£900 (2–3 days)
Typical parts: £150–£450 (lamp brackets / liners / carriers)
Full Exterior Respray
Full exterior repaint including prep, primer, colour, lacquer and booth curing.
Price varies by vehicle size and paint type. When trims and seals are removed we may uncover previous poor repairs or corrosion; we’ll discuss any extra prep with you before we continue.
Guide price: £3,000–£5,000 (5+ days)
